The Means May Change but Hearts Still Need Jesus

This time of year, we think about Jesus as a baby. Emmanuel. God with us. Then we will move on to think of His life and His death, but of course, Jesus did not remain in the grave. God communicated to us the blessed hope of the redemption of our own bodies through Christ’s resurrection. This message of love and hope was then entrusted to the church. For the next 1400 years, this message was communicated orally and through arduously hand-copied versions of the word of God.

The printing press was invented in 1450 and one of the very first books published was the Bible. A new era in communication and spreading the Gospel began. For the next 400 years, the spoken and written word would remain the primary method of communicating God’s love and hope, but the parameters had changed drastically.

Then in the last century, we saw an explosion in communication technology. In 1896 the radio was invented; 1927, television; 1980s, satellites; and in the 1990s, the internet. Now, we have Bluetooth and other “airborne” methods of communication.

It is crazy to imagine the drastic changes in just the last 20 years. IMM has been instrumental in the Gospel being seen and heard by millions of people around the world. All of these great accomplishments are but the tip of the iceberg of potential. Yes, millions have heard, but the population of our earth is measured in billions. IMM has never wavered in the desire to reach the world for Christ. With each new innovation, the tools are in place and become more powerful. The Gospel can truly be within the reach of this global population. Your prayers will help speed the Gospel to the ends of the earth.

God’s Word for Today:

“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:14

Pray with us:

  • Pray for people searching online, listening to radios, and scanning television channels today to find the hope of the Gospel.

  • Pray for IMM to be wise in the technology innovations we adopt.

  • Pray for a friend in a challenging situation and use today’s technology to let them know you are thinking of them today.
