Since 1999, John has been the Executive Director
of IMM. Ruth, is a writer and facilitator and the director of
the Center for Illiterate Outreach. John and Ruth attended Oral
Roberts University. They traveled with ministry teams from the
university, and later directed a professional musical group that
traveled internationally. John worked as a producer for a Christian
recording company and as an engineer at a commercial recording
studio. John and Ruth first came to Belgium in 1979, as missionaries
in media with ICI/Global University. At ICI/Global University,
John directed the media division. For the last ten years,they
have focused specifically on the 3 billion people, half the world,
who are illiterate. |

John (Trey) Merrell

Trey is part philosopher and part mountaineer.
He proudly serves his country as a US Army Cavalry Scout. He married
the love of his life, Lindsey Charrette on Father’s day,
June 19, 2005. Trey served in the U.S. Army in Baghdad for one year, but now he is home. Currently he and Lindsey make their home on base in Fort Drum, NY. |
